On April 22nd, 2023, Knights celebrated Earth Day up and down the state. This day reminds us of the importance of caring for our planet and working towards a sustainable future. To best acknowledge its importance Knighted Neighbors partnered with several organizations to undertake various eco-friendly initiatives.

The first initiative was a fence replacement project in Joseph Grant County Park, Santa Clara County which aimed to replace old, rusted fences with new ones made from sustainable materials. Knighted Neighbors also partnered with the City of South San Francisco’s Environmental Compliance Program and the County of San Mateo’s Public Works Department for a creek clean-up project at the second initiative. Volunteers spent a day cleaning up the local creek, removing trash and debris that had accumulated over time.

But we didn’t just limit our eco-friendly initiatives to physical projects. We also held a social media campaign to encourage people to independently participate in Earth Day activities. The campaign invited Knights to submit photos and videos of themselves engaging in eco-friendly activities, such as riding a bike instead of driving, picking up trash, or gardening. Overall, the campaign was a success. Great photos were submitted, and people were further encouraged to make eco-friendly choices in their daily lives.
